KARACHI, Oct 24: Several academic activities scheduled for Monday in the city were postponed after the government declared October 24 a public holiday across the country on account of the death of former PPP chairperson Begum Nusrat Bhutto.
The mathematics (general) paper of the class-X supplementary examination-2011 which was scheduled to be held on Monday has been postponed, according to an announcement made by the Board of Secondary Education Karachi controller of examinations, Rafia Mallah, on Sunday. The maths exam would now be conducted on Nov 1, she said.
She also said that the marks-sheets of SSC part-I (science group) annual examination would be issued on Tuesday instead of Monday.
The Dow University of Health Sciences has announced that all exams scheduled for Monday under its auspices have been postponed and a new schedule will be announced later. The announcement was made by DUHS pro-vice chancellor Prof Umar Farooq.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the NED University of Engineering and Technology announced that the interviews for admission to its Hafiz-i-Quran course against quota seats had been postponed from Oct 24 to Oct 25.Dawn.
