KARACHI, Jan 23: The All-Private Schools Management Association, Sindh, has stated that any increase in the tuition fee being charged by its member schools will not take effect from now, in the middle of an academic session, but from April 1 when the new academic session will begin.
A meeting of the association was held with its chairman Syed Khalid Shah.
The association dispelled the impression in a statement that some private schools were increasing tuition fee with immediate effect, saying that no private school could increase tuition fee in the mid of an academic session.
Discussing about the issue of demand of tuition fees of June and July (summer vacation) in advance, the participants of the meeting urged its member schools to charge the tuition fee of summer vacation from their students strictly in accordance with the fee collection schedule whereby they could charge tuition fee from their Class X students only up to March in February.
According to the schedule, students who are not willing to continue their studies at their present schools in the next academic session should also be charged tuition fee up to March provided that they inform the management of their schools in writing that they will be switching over to some other schools. The meeting also advised its member schools to
collect June’s tuition fee from their students in January and that of July’s along with the tuition fee of February.Dawn.
