Karachi:The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) and the Education and Literacy Department, Sindh, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday to decide their respective responsibilities in order to avoid duplication.
The goal of the commission is to fill the implementation gaps and improve public sector delivery mechanisms to achieve the Millennium Development Goals through the Universal Primary Education (UPE) and Adult Literacy and Gender Empowerment Programme, a press release issued on Monday said.
The NCHD was established in July, 2001 as a federal statutory body. It is a fast-track initiative to improve social sector outcomes at the grass-root level. For achieving the MDGs and EFA goals, approximately 10000 teachers will be recruited in closed government primary school as volunteers/feeder teachers. The news
