Karachi:Intel Pakistan Corporation and the Sindh information technology (IT) department signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday for the “Intel Easy Step Programme” to improve IT skills in the adult population of the province, and increasing and improving opportunities for education, as well as common healthcare and communication in the country.
Sindh IT Minister Raza Haroon, who was the chief guest at the event, said that there was a need to support IT literacy in country. The “Intel Easy Step Programme” is an step forward in supporting and training people in the use of IT, and enabling them to use these technologies as a tool to improve productivity. Government employees will also be trained under the programme.
Haroon said that his department was working in the remote areas of rural Sindh for improving IT awareness; the “Intel Easy Step Programme” will also focus on the rural population.
The Sindh IT department has already established 16 computer training centres in rural areas of the province, he said.The news
