Karachi Students visit historical buildings

Karachi:The students of University of Karachi (KU) and NED University Old Campus visited various historical buildings of the city in connection with Hamara Karachi Festival.

The students of both the universities visited Quaid-e-Azam House, Frere Hall, Old KMC Building, Hindu Gymkhanas, Trinity Church, SP Church, Khaliq Dina Hall, Hanuman Temple, Max Denso Hall, KPT Building and other important historical buildings and showed keen interest in their history and design.

Speaking on the occasion, President Hamara Karachi Foundation, Former City Naib Nazima Karachi Nasreen Jalil said there is a need to spread awareness among the youth about historical and cultural heritage of the city. She said that the work to save historical archives and maps found from the KMC Building has been started. So far, 276 various documents, 711 maps and 403 pictures have been preserved, she added.

Director Visual Studies KU Durriya Kazi and NED Old Campus Prof Dr Nauman provided guidance and briefing to the students during the visit.The news
