HYDERABAD, March 20: Leaders of the Government Secondary Teachers Association warned on Saturday that if Sindh government did not issue a notification granting them the same facilities which had been provided to their colleagues in the rest of the country, they would take to the streets.
Addressing a large procession of teachers, president of the Hyderabad chapter of GSTA Zamir Khan criticised Sindh education minister’s statement in which he had warned that if teachers launched a protest movement, it would delay resolution of their problems.
Mr Khan said that it was democratic right of teachers to raise voice for their legal rights and expressed surprise why Sindh’s teachers were being denied the facilities which had been provided to their colleagues in other federating units.
The procession adopted several resolutions demanding issuance of a notification for granting time-scale, teaching allowance and other facilities to the secondary teachers.Dawan
