Literary figures honorary ACP
The Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP), Karachi, has conferred honourary membership to Intezar Hussain, Zahra Nigah, Iftikhar Arif, Amar Jalil and Tasadduq Hussain. The step was taken by ACP in recognition of the literary prowess of these figures that has propelled Urdu as one of the greatest international languages. Renowned Indian critic and poet Shamsur Rahman Farooqui was presented with ‘Nishan-e-Sipas’ (Pride of Performance) in recognition of his countless services to Urdu.
