SGH New Karachi to get blood bank

Karachi :25 July:The first blood bank is being set up in the Sindh Government Hospital (SGH) New Karachi in order to provide blood transfusion facility to the patients. Medical Superintendent Hasan Alam stated this here on Saturday. He said that the hospital comprising 200 beds was deprived of blood bank facility. However, on the directives of Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed and Secretary Health Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi, the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA) head Dr Zahid Ansari has provided all instruments and equipment for the blood bank. The provincial health minister and secretary will inaugurate the blood bank in a few days, he said. SBTA Sindh Secretary Dr Zahid Ansari said that to establish a blood bank in SGH New Karachi, blood bags, hepatitis B & C kits, microscopes and other equipment had been given to the hospital. He said that a registration certificate would be issued to the hospital after the meeting of SBTA soon.The News
