KARACHI,31 July : Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday advised Pakistani youth to project positive image and true picture of Pakistan during interaction with youth of other countries attending 5th World Youth Congress at Istanbul, Turkey.He was speaking at the farewell function at Art Council of Pakistan here in honour of Pakistani youth delegation leaving for Turkey.Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Deputy Speaker Ms Shehla Raza and Youth Affairs Minister Syed Faisal Ali Sabzwari were also present on the occasion.

“Foreign media often projects distorted image of Pakistan and you must project the rich culture of Pakistan, art, history and splendid heritage at the congress as ambassadors of Pakistan”, he added.
Qureshi said that Turkey has excellent bilateral relations with Pakistan which are free of irritants and not confined to government and official level.
“These relations are people centric. You will yourselves see how Turkish people treat you on your arrival. Similar in the situation in Pakistan for Turkish people,” he noted.
The Foreign Minister said that Istanbul is the cultural capital of Europe and a blend of east and west. Though Turkey has modernised itself, it has not lost its Islamic identity, he observed.
Earlier, Managing Director Statuspro, Sidra Iqbal in her welcome address said that 45 Pakistani youth have been selected to attend the World Congress in Turkey. About 1200 delegates from all over the globe will attend the function.
Later, the Foreign Minister gave away certificates of scholarship to the selected youth.
