Karachi:The district coordination officer (DCO), Karachi, Muhammad Hussain Syed, has directed the executive district officer (EDO), education, to provide furniture to those schools immediately where children were being taught on the floor.
Addressing a meeting of the Monitoring and Improvement of Schools Committee of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) on Saturday, he also directed that a committee be formed, which would work with the School Monitoring Committee of the FPCCI so that all urgently needed works in schools could be undertaken without delay.
The meeting was attended by the EDO, Education, Ibrahim Kanbhar; the EDO, Revenue, Roshan Ali Shaikh; the EDO, Municipal Services, Masood Alam; the EDO, Community Development, Rehana Saif; the Chairman, CSR Committee of the FPCCI, Siddique Shaikh; the Chairperson, Committee for Monitoring and Improvement of Schools, Farhana Iqbal; the Chief Operating Officer, Muhammad Kashif; and the Academic Coordinator, Tayyaba Khanum.
The meeting also suggested that the fund currently spent through the Schools Management Committee should be utilised under advice from the FPCCI Education Committee.The news
